[tweetmeme source=”your_twitter_name” only_single=false http://www.URL.com%5DAnother application of omega-3 fatty acids has been identified, this time proving a beneficial component in helping women undergoing breast cancer treatment. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) was found to increase the effectiveness of chemotherapy treatment for certain cases of breast cancer. The findings were published late last year in the British Journal of Cancer, and may present a means to better combat breast cancer for the millions threatened by the disease, which is the most prevalent form of cancer in women. The research was led by Philippe Bougnoux, of the Henry S. Kaplan Cancer Center in Tours.

1.8 grams of DHA daily dose by breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Results suggest that this relatively large dose  of DHA is able to increase the sensitivity of cancerous cells to chemotherapy, while leaving healthy non-tumorous tissues unaffected. Chemotherapy often must be scaled back because of its toxic side effects on healthy tissue, reducing its ability to treat the cancer. With this DHA supplementation, chemotherapy can be made more effective without potentially sickening the patient by resorting to increasing chemical levels.

Researchers explained this increased sensitivity to chemotherapy is the result of the oxidizing effects of DHA. This highly unsaturated fatty acid is absorbed by lipids in cell membranes, which happens more readily in quickly proliferating cells, as in the case of a tumor. Earlier studies had already shown that enriching cancerous tissue with DHA sensitized it to anti-cancer drugs, particularly a class of chemo drugs called anthracyclines. Anti-cancer drugs induce oxidative stress, and breast cancer tissues seem to be made more sensitive to this with DHA present. Importantly for this study and the prospects of late-stage patients, the more developed and aggressive cancer tissue is, the more pronounced the effect of DHA becomes.

Not only getting the great effects of the DHA with breast cancer. The other great things it does is help with, ,ADD, ADHD in children, anger issues in children, focusing,  everyone can use a calm mind and happy one.

Omega 3 helps with a number of other issue inflammation, cholesterol, helps to thin the blood, feed the brain, reducing risk of heart disease.

There are new products coming out on the market all the time for

blood sugar problems, many different diets also. Bottom line you just have to follow a good diet of whole grains in small quantities and lots of protein and good quality of fat to help keep the blood sugar leveled for about 5 hours at a time.

I have watched my mother with all the things the doctors have told her and the sugar snacks that she can eat in between meals as long as she stays with in her carb limit. Guess what it still causes her lots of problems. So she has switched over to whole grains and no no no sugar, she can use a little agave nectar and not bother her blood sugar levels.

We have also found that Myricetin (myrica cerifera or bayberry) can help those who still have issues keeping it under control.

Also if you are dieting and you find it hard to lose the inches try adding Bayberry capsules, follow the directions on the bottle and watch the pounds come off better.

Better health for your blood vessels and better health for your body.

Peppermint oil, spearmint oil, or any essential oil helps promote nice clean fresh smelling breathe.

Salt water rinses are pretty easy. 1 cup warm water to 1 teaspoon salt. You can also add any of the oils above to this rinse.

Tooth powders a classic one is baking soda, but it can also be pretty abrasive, remember most toothpastes on the market have it in there. Another is to mix salt, xylitol, arrowroot and more fun stuff to make it taste better. Powdered orange peel finely ground makes a good tooth powder. Use only the orange peel part or zest of the peel.

Peppermint Tooth Paste

1 Tablespoon fresh peppermint or 1/2 tablespoon dried or 2 or 3 drops of essential oils

1/4 cup cold water

1/2 teaspoon sunflower oil

1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon xylitol

1 teaspoon of baking powder(optional)

Place mint leaves in water in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, remove from heat, and allow the mixture to cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Mix together the cornstarch, baking powder and oil, and stir until smooth. Strain the mint-leaf solution and discard the leaves. Mix together the mint water and corn-starch mixture. Bring this mix to a boil and then cool, stirring occasionally. Spoon the cooled mixture into a clean container. To use: Spread a small amount on a clean toothbrush and brush as usual. Always scrub your tongue with you toothbrush after brushing your teeth to get that super clean feeling.

Whiteners are sage, black walnuts tincture, lemon and lime oils.

It seems that this diet has taken over the country. There many of my friends that are doing or have done. I might add with success. Very few it has not worked on. The benefits are many and the increase in energy is wonderful. Lose up to 30lbs in 30 days.

You start out deciding if you are going to do the injections or take the homeopathic liquids. One take measurements and weight yourself then find the foods list. Make sure you drink plenty of water and tea (hot or cold). Make sure you have plenty of gum to help with the chewing issue we have developed over the years.

Be sure to plan your meals in advance it helps you to stick to the eating plan and keep a journal of what you eat so you can count the calories.

This diet consists of very low calories but it’s not about the pounds; it’s the inches. The hCG protocol consists of a combination of a very low calories diet and the use of Homeopathic hCG. However, the amount of weight lost during treatment does not differ significantly from other treatments involving low-calorie diets. What makes treatment with hCG so effective is that people lose significantly more body fat than people who only diet. The impact is seen in a changed body contour, with particular impact on those hard to reduce areas such as thighs and buttocks.

There is the issue they say No Bad Moods, well I think they underestimate this. I know some people who get pretty cranky. But I think I believe the rest no headaches and no weakness.

So different programs have different length of times ranging from 30 to 40 days. Whatever the time frame stick with it and enjoy the results. Good luck.

At our store, we have many clients who deal with food allergies.  Some are severe and some are not as severe, but in both cases, it’s irritating to the person dealing with it!

I recently talked with a person who was afraid to keep a food journal because s/he feared that s/he might be allergic to everything.  This person just broke my heart because I could see the fear standing in the way of a simple fix.  Why fear feeling better?  When feeling icky has defined a person’s state of being for so long, why not take that flying leap and do something about it?  Are we afraid that we won’t know what to do with ourselves once that irritation is gone?

What is a food allergy?

When you have a food allergy, your body thinks certain foods are trying to harm you. Your body fights back by setting off an allergic reaction. In most cases, the symptoms are mild—a rash, a stuffy nose, or an upset stomach. A mild reaction is no fun, but it is not dangerous. A serious reaction can be deadly.

What are the symptoms?

Food allergies can cause many different symptoms. They can range from mild to serious. If you eat a food you are allergic to:

  • Your mouth may tingle, and your lips may swell.
  • You may have cramps, an upset stomach, or diarrhea.
  • You may have itchy skin with red, raised bumps called hives
  • You may have a stuffy nose, wheeze, or be short of breath.
  • You may feel dizzy or light headed.
  • You might also feel fatigued and just plain sluggish also

Kids usually have the same symptoms as adults. But sometimes a small child just cries a lot, vomits, has diarrhea, or does not grow as expected. If your child has these symptoms, see your doctor.

Some people have symptoms after eating even a tiny bit of a problem food. As a rule, the sooner the reaction begins, the worse it will be.

The most severe reaction is called anaphylaxis (say “ANN-uh-fuh-LAK-suss”). It affects your whole body. Anaphylaxis usually starts within an hour after you eat the food. And the symptoms can come back 1 to 2 hours later. If you have anaphylaxis:

  • Your throat and tongue may swell quickly.
  • You may suddenly start wheezing or have trouble breathing.
  • You may feel sick to your stomach or vomit.
  • You may feel faint or pass out.

Anaphylaxis can be deadly. If you have (or see someone having) any of these symptoms, call 911 right away!!!

What foods most often cause a food allergy?

A few foods cause most allergies. A food that causes an allergy is called a food allergen. Usually it is the protein in foods that causes the problem.

  • Eggs, milk, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish
  • If you are allergic to one food, you may also be allergic to other foods like it. So if you are allergic to shrimp, you may also be allergic to lobster or crab.

content provided here.

You may be saying to yourself, “Well that’s a bummer! I have those symptoms sometimes, what can I do about it?”

The best thing to do in my humble opinion is to NOT EAT FOODS THAT GIVE YOU ALLERGIC REACTIONS! This is the simplest and most effective solution, I think.  Of course, talk to your doctor. 🙂

One way to find out which foods you are allergic to is to keep a food journal.  Every time you eat something, write it down and then about an hour later write down how you feel.  Oh, and don’t forget to write down your reactions to your vitamins too!  That way, by process of elimination, a person could figure out what is causing problems and what is not.

There are many alternatives to the diet that most of us in the USA have become used to.  For example: if a person is allergic to gluten (a protein found in several grains) they could easily buy flour made from rice or quinoa, or millet.  If a person is allergic to lactose (a sugar found in dairy products) they could use rice, almond, coconut or hemp milks.  Just because a person has food allergies does not mean that person has to starve.

At DC Natural Foods, we carry a variety of foods and supplements that are suitable for people with food allergies.  Come check them out!

1/2 c. oil ( castor, apricot, almond, avocado, sea buckthorn, vit. E, squalane, carrot, jojoba, emu, grape seed oils)

1/2 c. stearic acid pd or flakes

1 teaspoon baking soda

4 tablespoon glycerine

1 c. water

(stearic acid is used to stiffen the cream and blend the oil and water)

Combine the oil and stearic acid powder in a 16-ounce oven proof glass measuring cup.

Combine the baking soda, glycerine, and distilled water in an 8-ounce oven proof glass measuring cup.

Heat the oil and stearic acid in a water bath on the stove top until the mixture is a clear liquid and all of the powder has melted.

Heat the water solution until just boiling(about 2 minutes in the microwave on High or 5 minutes in a water bath on the stove top). Slowly add the water solution to the oil and stearic acid. You will see the mixture foam up as carbon dioxide is released.

Pour the entire mixture into a blender slowly and carefully and blend on high for 2 minutes. The mixture will be a white, fluffy cream. This is when I add Vit. C, MSM pd,Euglan pd, IGF-1 liq., HGH liq., Liq. DMG, DMSO liq., 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract help persevere, zinc oxide for sunscreen, plant enzymes to remove old skin cells, CoQ10, ascorbyl palmitate, hyaluronic acid to help the skin hold water, but there is a world of different things you can put in your cream. Whatever whim you get.

Spoon the cream into small containers(old baby food jars or any small container) I use press n seal once the container is full put the lid on and it is ready to store in the frig or dark cool place. Remember any product that has oil in it will go rancid if not kept cold.

Enjoy this is my favorite of all that I have made. T
